So as you all know, on Sunday it was our big CKTV Breakfast, and also our very own classmate's birthday! So happy belated birthday to him! Well anyways, back to our Breakfast. It was pretty fun! The CKTV breakfast consists of Games, Raffle Tickets, lucky door prizes, live entertainment, bingo, and of course, Breakfast! This was my first year working the breakfast, obviously, but I've been to the breakfast last year and it was delicious and fun. I had to wake up at 4 in the morning, and believe me, I am not a morning person. We got to eat breakfast, containing of eggs, sausage, ham, rice, fruits (watermelon & orange); miso soup and some drinks. Anyways....I was working Games with Kelli, Nicole, Kaden, and Kai. We directed people to the entrance, said hello, thanked them for coming, and wished them a wonderful breakfast...oh and did I mention we were also working games? I was working bean bag toss tic-tac-toe; where you toss a bean bag standing from a certain distance and you try to get 3 in a row, either diagonally, vertically, or 3 in a row slanted. At the end of the breakfast, we helped clean up and then we got to play in the library while the parents drew the tickets from the $2 raffle tickets. I must say, there was some pretty good prizes! Some prizes are: Go Pro Hero 3+, TV, a Coffee Maker, iRobot, gift certificates and many more! We played a couple of games of Hide-and-Go-Seek, freeze tag, and Hide-and-go-Seek-Freeze-tag. Well anyways, that was our CKTV breakfast fundraiser! I hope we raised a lot, or enough money for our tre

The holidays are here! The smell of Christmas trees, colorful bright lights, and wreaths on doors; blow-up Santa's and Elves are all about my favorite holiday......That's right! Christmas! So as you all know, everyone in the Media Class will be participating in Secret Santa! So for all those people that don't know who Santa is, he is a person who lives in the North Pole and eats your cookies and drinks all your milk.....oh and did I mention he also brings gifts/presents to all the good boys and girls in the world; which are made by his Elves! He has 2 lists, and he checks them twice, ones a naughty and ones a nice. These two lists contains all the naughty children and all the nice ones. If you are a good child, then you will be given presents on Christmas. However, If you are a bad child through out the year, you will receive coal. So what Secret Santa is, is that we all act as someone else's Santa, and we get them a gift within $5 and $10. I'm Secret Santa for [insert random name here]. I still don't know what to get him/her, but I have some ideas in mind. Have you gotten your person's gift yet? If you haven't, Good Luck, and Happy Holidays! Be a good person and Keep updated for my next "Christmas-y" Blog about my favorite Holiday Movies! Goodbye!! :)
Hello Everyone! Today I'm here to talk to you about "Skype". Skype is a free app available for Ios devices and for the computer/laptop. It allows you to have video calls or just voice calls with another Skype user, using Wi-Fi. It is also a "instant messaging system" where it allows Skype users to communicate via text. However, you can have more than just 2 people in a skype call, you can add more people from your contacts. Yes, Skype is similar to "Facetime", but--Skype has IM's and something called "Screen Sharing". Screen Sharing is when someone using the pc version of Skype shares what they are looking at on there screen with someone else either on the app on the mobile device or on another computer. I started using Skype not to long ago because my brother and his friends use it ALL THE TIME; so I decided to give it a go. So afterschool I use Skype to just talk with some friends (and yes, I really do have friends :P). Well, Bye!!
Hello Everyone!! On Saturday, we had our CKTV street fair. It didn't turn out as planned because it was.....well, wet. It poured rain and there was thunder and lightning! There was a huge lightning bolt that struck across the street. I worked games with my friend Nicole. We were in charge of the ring toss where you paid one ticket (or one dollar) and you get 5 rings to toss. If you get at least 2 rings on, you win a prize. Frankly, the game was hard to me. But only 3 different people played our game. Because of the thunder and the lightning and the bad weather, the food trucks had to shut down early, and the street fair also. I ate a fish kind of bento and we ate in the teacher work room. After that, we helped clean up, and I helped to clean up in the Cafeteria. Although the Street Fair wasn't a success, we still more fundraisers to go, and it sure was fun.
Hello Everyone! A few weeks ago, Mr.M announced that we would be receiving email's from our Pen Pals from a media class in a school in California called, Castaic Middle School. My pen pal is in 8th grade and is really nice. We email each other often. I really like having pen pals, I always have but having a pen pal in a media class is cool because you can relate to each other easier. I wonder how many of you guys got your pen pals yet?! I know some people didn't get their pen pals, and others who did. I hope you all get your pen pals soon. Well, anyways Byee!!
Hey guies! So report Cards or progress reports got out today!! I was pretty
excited but nervous at the same time. I was really worried about my media and science grade. But I was really worried for nothing because when I was given my report card, I had got all A's! I was really happy and excited. Moving on to a new quarter...we started our 2nd Quarter Projects! My partner, Lilly and I are doing another news feature story on "Bathroom Fees in Kilauea". A restaurant named, "Lighthouse Bistro" in Kong Lung Market is charging people to use the bathrooms. This was because non-customers had been just using the bathroom-and not buying anything. So, them owner of the market and the owner of the store had came up with a price-$10 for non-customers, $8 for a person with a recipt from another shop in the market, and Free for customers. So far we have been researching and just calling people. Well, Byee!! Hello! It's Alaysia back with another blog. In this blog I will be telling
you about the iOS 7. Well, in this new update, apple designed a whole new layout interface, you could say. They changed the icon pictures for the mandatory apps. They also changed the design of the app and the iDevice it's self. The home screen is still the same, however, there is a pop-up settings, called "Control Center" which you can access anytime on your mobile apple product. It allows you to switch from airplane mode to wifi, alter your brightness; and it includes a camera, calculator, flashlight, the "Do Not Disturb", music and many more. Instead of going to your settings to do so, you can activate "Control Center" by swiping up from the bottom portion of your Device. Speaking of the camera, apple also changed that up too. The camera app allows the photographer to choose from 4 kinds of shooting; video and photo as you all are farmiliar with, and they added pano (for panoramas) and square, (for all you instagrammers). And even MORE goodies pertaining to the camera app, apple added "Instagram-Style" filters for those cool, funky, retro effects. With these new features and effects of the camera, we can use them to do future Advisory games, to make the shots look cool and neat. Corasponding to the Camera is the Photos. It automatically organizes your photos into "collections", which are sorted by date AND Location! Some minor details have been changed, like the Search Bar. Instead of the swipe all the way to the left kind of thing, Apple decided to make it convenient, so they made it so you just swipe down from the bottom of the screen. Just a few more things guies! One thing is the itunes Radio, which features stations chosen by you. Another thing that I thought was Awesome was the Automatic App Updating. All the iOS apps will be automatically updated to the newest version. Although, If you prefer to update them manually, you can disable this feature. I personally think this is good because keeping iOS apps up to date are fairly annoying and tedious. Although this is not the last feature, or the most interesting, I thought I would just squeeze this in. Apple added in some cool Wallpapers. I actually changed my lock screen wallpaper to one of the backrounds Apple made, because it looked neat, and it also moves when you would tilt or move the iPad a certain way. Isn't that cool?! Or is it just me? I'm a bit weird like that....Oh well. That's basically MY overview of the iOS 7. Well....this is the end I guesh. Byee! Haaallllloooo! It's Alaysia, back with another blog. So for this blog I will tell you about my experience in working at the Science Show. So every year, the CKTV Media Crew films the Science Show, and creates one big slide show or video. Mr. M split us up into groups, I was in a group with Javlynn and Ysabel. We actually didn't get to go inside the Science show, which was fine because I went to an excursion to see the Science show the day before. So, Javlynn, Ysabel, and I stayed outside with the exhibits, getting B-roll of the students coming in and learning about the exhibits and interviewing them about the Science Show. I thought the exhibits were pretty interesting, to be honest, and getting to see my old teachers was definatly a plus also. But hearing what the students had to say about the Science show when we interviewed them was the best. When we got back to school, we imported the footage we got and Mr.M gave us advice to improve next time. Thats all for this blog, BYEE!
Helllllooooo! It's Alaysia back with another blog! So for this blog I will tell you about my favorite television show, "Doctor Who". Doctor Who is a Sci-Fi British Television show created in 1963. It was recreated in 2005. It is about an alien who is the last of his kind, the time lords from the planet Gallifrei. He time travels in his blue police box- his Tardis (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) trying to save everyone he comes across with. What is interesting about the tardis is that it's bigger on the inside than on the outside. He has many foes such as the Daleks, Cybermen, and the Master, another time lord. The Doctor can regenerate himself when he is hurt or wounded since he is a time lord, but his face changes every time, so far there has been 11 actors of the Doctor. But that's not all I'm here to talk about. It's one of my favorite t.v. shows because not only it's addicting, but because of its a cool effects. For example, when he regenerates. His arms and his face starts to glow with these magical particales then it replaces the original Doctor with a different face, a new actor.
Hey guys! So I've been playing around with my iPad and found this really cool app. The app is called notability. It's a note taking app which lets you draw, type, highlight, record and organize notes. In this app, you do not need to make an account to use it. To help organize your notes, notability lets you create subject folders and dividers. Besides the tools in taking notes, drawing, highlighting, typing, and recording, there are two others I haven't spoke of yet; a magnifying glass and a hand, which can be found in the bottom right hand corner. With the magnifying glass, it opens up a window, where it lets you view a text closer; zoomed in. The hand is a "palm rest". It is for your other hand to rest when you are writing or drawing. So that's it for this blog. Thanks for reading!
